Wheb you have short nails would nail extensions, or just a manicure be better?

I wan't to get my nails done to make them pretty so I won't bite them =P I was wondering if a nice french mani or extensions would last longer, but my nails are kinda short and I wasn't really sure if I could even qualify for a manicure =) Help?Wheb you have short nails would nail extensions, or just a manicure be better?
A manicure on your natural nails will be better for long term health of your nail. A nice hand and forearm massage will stimulate blood flow which will encourage nail growth. With acrylic nail application, the top surface of your nail is roughened to get better adhesion of the acrylic, which makes your natural nail thinner and weaker. And I agree, that shorter nails are more modern. Natural well groomed nails look the absolute best, and taking care of your hands and nails can make you feel prettier and take more pride in yourself. having regular manicures would benefit you more if you have nail extensions done you could end up damaging your nail bed and would have to keep on getting the extensions done. you can have a manicure treatment done on any length of nails also try using a nail strengthener like sally Hansen's and you will soon see the benefit you will have nice nails in no time.
uhm manicure and sally hansen nail growth nail polish my nails grow fast with that.
I personally wouldn't advise sticking on artificial nails, if your nails are kind of short wear a nice, deep red. Deep reds look better on shorter nails (a bit too vampy on longer ones) and you be less inclined to bite them if they are all nice and polished.

I've always wanted to have my nails done but people have put me off. So I'd say go for a manicure. If you have tips/fakes, they cut your current nails down really low, and it can make the nail indented.
i think cuz u bite ya nails u should get extensions... i bite my nails too but wen i get them done wit extensions...i cant bite them cuz its hard plastic...so my nails are able to grow wit out me biting them off... lol plus i bite them so much manicures are waaayyyy out the question...
youre nails dont have to be a certain growth to get a french manicure. i would go with the mani. fake nails can damage ur real nails and wen u take them off ur real nails are very thin and they usually dont grow because of the strong glue. you might even have to clip ur real nails after cuz they will be damaged and very thing. id go with the mani! plus its not fake and much prettier =) wenever i get a mani i never bite my nails!

Manicures are better. Shot nails are modern. Acrylics are for old ladies.
get tips, they stay on for a while and you cant bite them, get them done in french so they go with everything, and tips were made for ppl with short nails so dont worry

Acrylic wreck your nails! i had them done once never again, they leave you nails all sort and bendy well they did with mine anyways.

What is the safest way to remove false nail extensions with silk wraps?

Either go back to the salon to have them removed or use this method I use on clients





Get half a cotton wool ball , soak it in pure acetone and place on your nail, then wrap your thumb tip in a small piece of kitchen foil. Repeat on the remaining 4 fingers of one hand. After 10 minutes gently remove your thumb from its foil pod and buff off any softened resin and replace in the foil pod, do this on the other nails repeating until its all gone. Once one hand is done you do the other hand. When you are all done treat your nails to some cuticle oil...acetone is very drying

Or soak your nails in acetone until the wraps fall off. But you're going to have to buff your nail bed after you are done to smooth it down. Also you can use nail polish with calcium in it to restore your nails. Prob best to soak them in acetone. use something like an egg cup, fill with acetone and leave one finger at a time in it for a few minutes, take finger out, remove surface of nail with a tissue or cotton wool and then replace in the acetone and repeat. Takes a while but its gentler than filling them off, maybe set aside an evening for the task, when fully removed soak your cuticles with cuticle oil and use a good hand and nail cream. leave to rest before using nail varnish etc.

I don't think they can be applied without roughing up the nails, and I don't think you'll find a place that will do that because it will be difficult to get the acrylic to stick. Acrylics are not a good idea for just a day or too. They do damage the nails, and while your nails will regrow normally, it will take a while for the healthy nail to fully replace the damaged nail - not worth it for just a day.Will acrylic nail extensions be easy to get off if they don't prime or rough up my nails?
I wouldn't go the acrylic route... it does wreck your nails.

How long can you keep having nail extensions done for?

I've recently had gel nail extensions and have had them refilled once... how long can i keep doing this for? indefinitely? can you keep on just getting them refilled or should you start again at some point? and should i get them all removed ever?How long can you keep having nail extensions done for?
I've been having my nails done for about three years now and I've never had them all done again at one time. They get done again as and when I break them. Going today and need a new one doing on my thumb, broke it yesterday!How long can you keep having nail extensions done for?
I am just coming up to 6 years with constant acrylic nail extensions.


My own nails are a bit brittle underneath but they were never good anyway.
I guess as long as you can afford to keep up the maintenance!
