Will acrylic nail extensions be easy to get off if they don't prime or rough up my nails?

I want to try them but not be commited to soaking them off and all. I would like them to stay on for about a day or so. I know there are other options but I want to try this method. Thanks. Will acrylic nail extensions be easy to get off if they don't prime or rough up my nails?
I don't think they can be applied without roughing up the nails, and I don't think you'll find a place that will do that because it will be difficult to get the acrylic to stick. Acrylics are not a good idea for just a day or too. They do damage the nails, and while your nails will regrow normally, it will take a while for the healthy nail to fully replace the damaged nail - not worth it for just a day. Will acrylic nail extensions be easy to get off if they don't prime or rough up my nails?
I wouldn't go the acrylic route... it does wreck your nails.

  • How long can you keep having nail extensions done for?

I've recently had gel nail extensions and have had them refilled once... how long can i keep doing this for? indefinitely? can you keep on just getting them refilled or should you start again at some point? and should i get them all removed ever? How long can you keep having nail extensions done for?
I've been having my nails done for about three years now and I've never had them all done again at one time. They get done again as and when I break them. Going today and need a new one doing on my thumb, broke it yesterday! How long can you keep having nail extensions done for?
I am just coming up to 6 years with constant acrylic nail extensions.

My own nails are a bit brittle underneath but they were never good anyway.
I guess as long as you can afford to keep up the maintenance!

What's the difference between gel and acrylic nail extensions?

Also, i have three options: clear, natural and french. Im guessing clear's clear. Is natural like french but more natural looking? What's the difference between gel and acrylic nail extensions?
They are differnt types of materials, but i think that acrylic is best, and have the american manicure, which is prob like natural.....its the bestxWhat's the difference between gel and acrylic nail extensions?
Ok i don't see the difference but with gel its meant to be a lot easier to dry under that machine thingy i know you can buy from sally's and with acrylic it takes longer to do and longer to dry but the end results the gel is meant to look better but i don't see the difference but its definitely easier. Im not sure if french is natural but i like the sound of natural so id go for that and french are really nice so it would be nice if they were similar. Hope i helped
French is when they use a white tip on your nails. It looks good but that depends on what you like when it comes to how your nails look. Gel nails look shinier than acrylics but I don't know how or why that is because the stuff they use for gel nails is the same as they use for acrylics. They told me the powder is gel powder and that is what makes it different.
gel is better because it allows your nails to breath i got them done its better for them then acrilics they ruin your nails x

How long do your natural nails have to be before you can get nail extensions?

My natural nails are really short because I have bitten them for years. I really want to get extensions but I don't know if my nails are too short or not. Has anybody had extensions done who have had super short nails?

Thanks xHow long do your natural nails have to be before you can get nail extensions?
Due to the medications I must take my nails were super short because they constantly broke or peeled. I just had my very first manicure and got nail extensions. I love them I finally have the nails I have always wanted. How long do your natural nails have to be before you can get nail extensions?
just above the line where your nails start to grow. But you don't need extensions you can grow them naturally all you have to do is drink lots of water eat healthy and don't bite your nails. but yeah over the nail growing line to get extensions. I am only 10 and I have very long nails and done the red and white version of the french manicure.
    Hey,

its really does not matter what length your natural nails are because all beauticians have the experience, so it does not matter what length x
    Doesn't matter.

I have short nails and I still get them done.
any length, mine are so short. anyone can have them anytime xx
u can have nail extensions no matter what length, go see a nail tech x

What is the difference between gel nail extensions and gel overlays?

I have very short nails and would like them too look nice for christms. I have been told by one person i need gel nail extensions and another person has told me that i need gel overlays. Help? What is the difference between gel nail extensions and gel overlays?
nail extensions follow on from the tip of your original nail and overlays are like complete fake nails covering your whole nail.extensions are dearer but can look more natural.

    Nail extensions?

I want to get my nails done for the first time and want them to look really nice and natural. I live in essex and wanna know how much i should be spending and what to ask for (i dont have a clue!!!)Nail extensions?
As a beautician all I can say is go and get your natural nails manicured, they will cut your cuticles and it will make them longer. This will cost between £15-20 pounds. If you go for acrylics or gels your own nails will become weak and thin and you will be shelling out £50 to £100 pounds initially and then £25 plus every 3-6 weeks to fill them in. After removal it will take about 1 year for your nails to recover.Nail extensions?
Get acrylic nails. French manicure with them looks nice. You have to go back every 2 - 3 weeks to get them filled in again though. Mine cost £25 to get them done originally %26amp; £15 to have them topped up.
I think a set of nails are around £30 and I would personally say 'natural' or the French polish look is best.
There is a variety materials that could be used for nail extensions:

    Acyclic - most common

    Fibreglass / Silk

    Gel

Depending on the condition, length, and desired look, your nail technician will advice you on the best suited to you. They are listed in density, so the best for you are the latter two... usually more expensive as well.

You initially get a 'Full Set' costing between £30-45, and appox every 2-3weeks you will need a 'Refill' at the cost of £15-20.

Refills are required as the natural nail grows the nail technician will need to infill the regrowth.

Have a look on http://www.yell.co.uk for a credible company in your area. They may be a website for you to look at their work, and prices. Ensure they don't use the electric drill on your NATURAL nail, this severly weakens the nail bed and causes a lot of problems in the future when you wish to remove them. If they do go to use the electric drill, just politely ask them to not, and instead use a file... this should be fine.

    Good luck
not sure what you mean by nail 'extensions' but... if you want them to look nice and be a bit 'longer' (fyi 'claws are totally OUT!') ask for 'gels' - if it's done right - it will look like a french manicure and it should cost about 50 bux (or more depends where you go). Also, make sure it's not put on too thick (looks fake) and lastly - you CAN have them polished with color and when you're sick of the color you can take it off and you'll still have the french look! maintenance is about 30 bux every 2-3 weeks depending how fast your nails grow...
Don't get nail extensions they ruin your own nail if you gat them done in a chinese salon for which there are pleanty in essex when you get them removed in there they use and electronic tool to sand away the nail if it's left on the nail 1 second too long it can cause a ring of fire and permanently damage the nail bed

if you do go for extensions gel/acryllic it costs upto £45 to have them applied upto £30 to have them infilled every couple of weeks and upto the same to have them removed if you have fiberglass nails done it will cost up to £30 and the nails are removed with pure acetone once nails are taken off the nail it's self is papery thin and needs lots of strengthening products used on it and a good diet to make it like it was before

the products that are used to apply false nails are basically made out of car body filler

i would strongly suggest you get a manicure done best way to keep the nails looking nice and natural there are lots of salons in essex that will do a good manicure there are even mobile manicurists out there that will do a treatment in the comfort of your won home from £13 and you can have it done when ever it suits you
I get my nails done every 2 weeks for work I have done for the past 3 years. My advise to you is Do Not get acrylic, go for either Silk Wrap extensions or Gel extensions the Silk are stronger but the Gel less harmful. Acrylic will ruin your nails if you keep having them done. Also DO NOT go to anyone who uses electric files the can't feel what they are doing and can so easily take your own nail down so thin it bleeds. Go to someone who uses a good old fashioned emery board. You should expect to pay around £30 for a full set of nails with Infills every 2 - 3 weeks (depending on how fast your nails grow) about £18 - £20. I hope this helps.
If you want a french manicure look get squared off white tips and clear gel overlay. If you want natural looking nails you can paint, get natural tips, oval edge and clear gel overlay. When you paint them, remember not to use acetone nail polish remover as it can 'melt' the gel. And when you get them removed get it done professionally!

A good price up North here in Leeds is £25 - £35 and I can't imagine there being much difference where you are. :)
A full set of acrylics is about £40 to start then you have to have rebalances every 2-3 wks. I have had my nails done for 7 yrs and i love them. Find a good salon that uses creative or an equivilent high quality acrylic. Ask to see other clients nails and also look at their own nails. You would'nt trust a hairdresser with a dodgy hair cut!
